Tom Berscheid has been employed by Christian Recovery Center since 1996.  Among other duties, he has been the director of Restoration Project, a long-term treatment program for men who have sexually offended children.  Working with this client population is an especially intensive area of counseling and treatment that demands a mix of compassion, vigilance, skill, and responsibility.

 

While at CRC, Tom provided thousands of hours of therapy services to marriages, families, individual adults, and children. Tom also played a strategic role in developing numerous agency policies and procedures, and also helped advance innovative counseling methods such as the Play Therapy Program, Cognitive-Behavioral Skills Training Classes, and the Restoration Project mentioned above.

 

Tom is especially gifted in working with very difficult cases involving sexual or emotional abuse, sexual offenses, and addiction.  He is very perceptive and has the ability to identify, confront, and help resolve behaviors that interfere with productive daily functioning.

 

Tom loves the Lord and wants very much to honor God in all that he does.  He has been able to integrate faith and spirituality into his counseling sessions in a way that is helpful to his clients.
